Why is it so many attorneys let their reporting firms make the decision as to who will videotape that very expensive and all-important deposition? I guess anyone can set a camcorder up on a tripod and press the red button. But is the audio clear enough that the jury can make out each word? And is the video sharp enough to keep their interest?
BROADCAST QUALITY
Image Resources, Inc. brings more to the table than a camcorder on a tripod. All depositions are videotaped with an Ikegami HC-340 camera, one of the most respected cameras in the world. It’s the same dockable camera/lens/recorder system used by numerous TV stations across the country for their newsgathering. Frankly, there are many stations which would like to upgrade to a system this nice. The audio is recorded with professional lavalier microphones, one clipped onto each person who speaks. Sure we could use the same wireless systems some legal videographers use, but for clarity and reliability, nothing beats being hard wired into the audio mixer. You’ll never have to worry about picking up stray CB radio signals just as the defendant assumes responsibility for the injuries.
MULTIPLE AUDIO CHANNELS
And speaking of audio mixers, all deposition audio is recorded on two separate channels with the witness isolated on one channel, and the counsels combined on the other. If, when finished, it turns out there’s a problem hearing mumbled confessions, the audio can be remixed after the fact so the jury hears exactly what it needs to hear to make a decision.
WE ARCHIVE YOUR DEPOSITIONS
Between the videotaping and trial, any number of things might happen to your deposition. It could be lost, stolen, or even accidentally erased over. Image Resources, Inc. says no problem. To protect you from any of these calamities, we create two masters at the time of the deposition, one digital videotape and one DVD. We give you one master, and keep the other master in our files for up to two years at no charge.
EDITING
The deposition looks so good in fact, that it’s a perfect source for any editing which needs to be done. Extract those objections. Delete that colloquy.
